Former WWE Raw Women’s Champion, Ronda Rousey, will host a brand new sports series on ESPN+ in 2021.
Announced during Disney’s Investor Day, where the historic unveiled their upcoming projects for the next few years which included a mammoth ten new Star Wars outings on both television and feature film, the company lifted the curtain on a brand new MMA series which will be hosted by the star.
A spin-off of the hugely popular NFL show, Peyton’s Places, which is fronted by football legend Peyton Manning, the show which is solely focused on mixed martial arts has yet to be given a title but it is believed Rousey’s name will be attached to the designation.
The sister show was a part of several uncoverings which will roll the format into baseball with David Ortiz, soccer with Abby Wambach and American football with Eli Manning.
Ronda Rousey has not competed in a WWE ring since WrestleMania 35 in 2019, when she lost the WWE Raw Women’s Championship to Becky Lynch in the main event of the show.
She is expected to return to the company either at or prior to the 2021 Royal Rumble after taking time away to attempt to start a family. ‘The Baddest Woman On The Planet’ is second favourite to triumph in the thirty woman elimination extravaganza and there have even been talks of her battling Becky Lynch at WrestleMania 37.
Ronda Rousey remains under WWE contract until April 2021.
