Ronda Rousey Suspended By WWE

Ronda Rousey attacks a referee

WWE have announced that Ronda Rousey has been suspended for her actions at SummerSlam.

At SummerSlam 2022 Liv Morgan put her SmackDown Women’s Championship on the line against former champion Ronda Rousey.

In the highly-anticipated rematch Rousey had the better of the exchanges, but Morgan’s signature ‘never say die’ attitude kept her in contention. In fact, she did more than stay in contention, upsetting Rousey to score the win.

However, the win didn’t come without a fair amount of controversy. As the champion countered an Arm Bar into a pinning predicament and held Rousey’s shoulders to the mat, she also tapped out. This submission went unnoticed by the referee who was focused on counting the pin.

After the match an irate Ronda Rousey attacked her rival and then turned her attention to official Dan Engler attacking him as well.

In a short statement posted on WWE.com, it has now been confirmed that Rousey has been suspended in storyline for her actions.

“Following her attack on referee Dan Engler at SummerSlam, Ronda Rousey has been fined an undisclosed amount and will be suspended.

An irate Rousey attacked the official after her SmackDown Women’s Title Match, claiming he missed Liv Morgan tapping out to the Armbar while he counted the pinfall.

Due to her suspension, Rousey will not appear on this week’s Friday Night SmackDown.”

Liv Morgan won the SmackDown Women’s Title at Money In The Bank where she defeated Rousey after winning the highly-prized Money In The Bank briefcase.
