Ronda Rousey Confirms She’s Suffered A Minor Injury

Ronda Rousey & Charlotte Flair

Ronda Rousey has confirmed that she’s suffered a minor injury as she prepares to meet Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania 38.

With WrestleMania 38 less than two weeks away, any kind of injury scare becomes an incredibly nervous time for all concerned, no matter how small the injury might be.

At the extravaganza, Ronda Rousey is set to clash with Charlotte Flair as she bids to win the SmackDown Women’s Championship. So any kind of injury or illness at this stage of proceedings is far from ideal.

Speaking on a recent Facebook Gaming Stream, the self-styled ‘Baddest Woman on the Planet’ revealed that she had torn her labial frenulum, which is a thin piece of tissue which connects your gums to your upper lip. Furthermore, she’s also battling illness.

“Oh, I’m totally fantastic, fine. I tore my labial frenulum apparently, which is that little piece of skin that connects your lip to your jaw or whatever, my top jaw,” she said. “I’m like so sick and not feeling good right now. Sorry guys if I sound like crap. I’ve literally sounded like this all day.”

“So tired, Po [her daughter] was so fussy on the plane on the way back and just, you know, SmackDown was a very physical day. I’m sore, I’m sick, I’m tired.”

During the stream, Rousey also commented on the potential WrestleMania showdown between Seth Rollins and Cody Rhodes.

“I’m excited about the possibility. I never got to see Cody wrestle live. He left right before I got there,”

On March 18th it was reported that Cody Rhodes had finally put pen to paper on a deal which will see him return to WWE for the first time since 2016.

Rhodes had become a free agent back in late 2021 after his most recent AEW contract expired. While the American Nightmare continued to wrestle for the company into the new year, he eventually announced that he and his wife Brandi had left AEW on February 15th.

It has since been reported that Rhodes will join the Raw brand when he finally makes his debut.

At time of writing there has been no official announcement from either Rhodes or WWE regarding a deal.
