Ronda Rousey Pushing For “Heated” Programme With Fellow WWE Raw Star

Ronda Rousey

Ronda Rousey’s time in WWE hasn’t been without its share of controversy. Her return at the 2018 Royal Rumble completely overshadowed Asuka’s win in the first-ever women’s rumble match. She has had a somewhat combative relationship with fans, many of whom have criticized her vocally for what she brings to the table.

And some of her more recent storylines and feuds have been seen by some audiences as uninspiring, to the point that she became the first woman to ever win the Wrestling Observer’s Most Overrated award.

Maybe that “distinction” lit a fire in her belly, but Rousey has found some new energy and wants to correct those mistakes by engaging in an intense feud with one of her closest friends in the company.

Ronda Rousey wants to do double-duty by teaming with and wrestling against Shayna Baszler

A few days ago, Ronda Rousey spoke to the New York Post and revealed that she was frustrated with the state of the division she finds herself in.

Although she and Shayna Baszler recently won the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships, Rousey lamented that they have a dearth of challengers, which makes it harder for fans to care about what they’re doing.

“We want to be the most active champions out there. I want to be able to defend this title every week and even twice a week on both ‘SmackDown’ and ‘Raw’.

“But with how dismally shallow the women’s division is right now, there’s not enough women around here to keep us busy for a month. And so that’s the biggest challenge that we have is to get this company to actually care and invest into this tag division.”

With this challenge in front her, Rousey proposed a solution: she wants to feud with Baszler while also teaming with her in a sort of “frenemies” situation.

“No, I think that’s the one thing that really sets us apart from every single person, every single tag team in, in the history of this company is that we’ve, we came here already tested and we came here already closer than anyone’s ever been.

We’ve literally fought together, bled together, cried together everything. And so there’s nothing that’s going to tear us apart, especially not a fantasy-land company like this.”
