The January 23rd episode of Monday Night Raw might be one of the biggest of the year, but it looks as though Ronda Rousey will not be involved.
The upcoming episode of the red brand will celebrate 30 years of the show which was broadcast for the very first time back on January 11th, 1993.
Ronda Rousey To Miss Raw
In the lead up to the show Ronda Rousey had been advertised to appear, but that is no longer the case. The former SmackDown Women’s Champion has been removed from the 30th anniversary Raw section of WWE.com.
At time of writing Roman Reigns, Austin Theory, Seth Rollins, Bayley, Bianca Belair, Becky Lynch and Bobby Lashley are all set to appear.
Outside of the current roster it has also been reported that a number of legends will also be in attendance.
Kurt Angle has revealed that he had held talks over an appearance, while Ric Flair has confirmed that he will be at the show. It has also been noted that two other WWE Hall of Famers will also be at the show.
There is now more attention on the taping than ever following Vince McMahon’s return to WWE’s Board of Directors. Although McMahon has stated that his return is purely to facilitate the sale of the company, rumours are running wild over his perceived ‘true’ involvement.
Despite the controversy, Ric Flair recently stated that he was happy that McMahon is back and said that he should appear on television at the 30th anniversary Raw show.
Meanwhile, Ronda Rousey hasn’t wrestled since being defeated by Charlotte Flair for the SmackDown Women’s Title on December 30th. On the show Flair made her surprise return to action and overcame Rousey in under a minute.
The former UFC star had earlier retained her title with a win over Raquel Rodriguez.
