SmackDown Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey has revealed what she asked of WWE before signing with the company.
Ronda Rousey stepped into a WWE ring for the first time at WrestleMania 31 where she joined The Rock in taking down Stephanie McMahon and Triple H. After McMahon slapped The Great One, he invited Rousey into the action from her seat at ringside.
After a stare down, The Rock brawled with Triple H before Rousey got in on the action performing a throw as he exited the ring. Turning her attention to Stephanie, the former UFC star teased locking her in an Armbar, but instead threw her out of the ring.
Upon signing with WWE Rousey rekindled her rivalry with the pair, teaming with Kurt Angle to defeat the husband and wife team at WrestleMania 34.
During an appearance on the Kurt Angle Show, available via AdFreeShows, Rousey explained to her former tag team partner and mentor, that before signing with WWE she asked to finish her storyline with McMahon.
“When I originally signed with them, my only request was that I wanted to finish up my storyline with Stephanie because we kind of left things, you know, not great between us. That was my only request as I wanted to work with Stephanie,”
Continuing on, Rousey was full of praise for McMahon, adding that working with her was a lot of fun.
“I just love her so much. She is the absolute best. I literally just grabbed her, and she was like this [screams], and you know, I was worried that I was hurting her,” admitted Rousey. “She is so good; it was so much fun. The best over-selling I’ve ever seen.”
Stephanie McMahon recently announced that she is taking some time away from WWWE. However, it has since been reported that McMahon might have been “moved out” of her role backstage as the company weren’t seeing the progress required.
