Former WWE RAW Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey has given birth to her first-born child with UFC star Travis Browne, announcing the news on Instagram.
Rousey took to her social media account, posting a photo of her lovingly coddling the baby inside her t-shirt, with a caption revealing the name “La’akea Makalapuaokalanipō Browne” and being accompanied with a heart emoji. A second photos shows the baby’s hand on her father’s chest.
The 34-year-old had announced that she was pregnant back in April, with the couple revealing the gender of the baby to be female during a Pokemon-themed gender reveal in June. The expected due date was September 22nd, although there’s no clarification as to whether the baby was born yesterday – or sometime beforehand.
It’s been a while since we’ve seen Ronda Rousey in WWE, with Nick Khan and Stephanie McMahon previously suggesting the former RAW Women’s Champion will return, although her pregnancy obviously delayed any such return if it were planned for any time soon.
Rousey had an all-time inaugural WWE year, debuting at WrestleMania in a Mixed Tag Team Match alongside Kurt Angle against Stephanie McMahon and Triple H. A dominant year where Rousey went undefeated and won the RAW Women’s Championship was book-ended with Rousey being one of three women to claim they were in the first ever women-s WrestleMania main event, where both the RAW and SmackDown Women’s Championships were on the line. Rousey suffered her first loss in WWE in controversial manner, being pinned by Becky Lynch, and then stepped away from the squared circle. At the time, the former UFC star explained that she was taking time away as she and Browne were trying for a baby.
Everyone at Inside The Ropes congratulates Ronda Rousey and Travis Browne on the birth of La’akea Makalapuaokalanipō Browne, and we wish them all the best for the future.
