Ronda Rousey has admitted that she’s enjoying her time without championship gold as it enables the women’s roster to be involved in more storylines.
When Ronda Rouse returned to WWE at the 2022 Royal Rumble she launched herself straight into the title picture with victory in the Women’s Royal Rumble Match. This eventually led her to defeat SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania Backlash after defeat to The Queen at WrestleMania 38.
Rousey held the title until being defeated by Liv Morgan at Money In The Bank, before attempting and failing to win the championship back at SummerSlam.
However, following her loss at the summer spectacular, Rousey attacked Morgan and a referee, getting fined and suspended in the process. The star remained suspended until September 2nd when she was begrudgingly reinstated by Adam Pearce.
Speaking on her latest gaming stream, Rousey said that she was enjoying her recent run out of the title picture. She explained that WWE’s male Superstars are often in storylines, so her being away from the title scene means there are more women’s storylines on TV.
Definitely, I guess,” she said when asked if she saw herself winning a title again, “but also, I feel like I don’t need it. I have been liking my non-title run because Roddy Piper never really needed the titles to make him great. I enjoy not having all my stories be dependent on the title and just having more storylines out there for the women.
Everything for the women almost always involves the title and a lot of men have non-title storylines all the time. I’m happy to take some non-title storylines to give more storylines to the women in total. I like it.”
After being reinstated by Adam Pearce on SmackDown Ronda Rousey put the official in an Arm Bar after he repeatedly insulted her.
