Ronda Rousey Discusses Final WWE Match Being A “F**k You” To Fans

Ronda Rousey Vs. Shayna Baszler Impacted By Creative Issues

Ronda Rousey has discussed seeing her final WWE match as an act of defiance against both fans and the company itself.

At SummerSlam last August, Ronda Rousey competed against Shayna Baszler in what now appears to be her final WWE match ever. The two went back to their UFC roots by competing in an MMA Rules match, in which Baszler emerged victorious by handing Rousey the first submission loss of her pro wrestling career.

Writing in her upcoming memoir Our Fight, which is set to officially release on April 4th and is currently available to pre-order, Rousey reflected on why she loved her match with Baszler and even addressed fans who found the match boring.

In that moment, in the ring, every single thing made sense, every motion anticipated and capitalized on, not because it was scripted but because it wasn’t. Shayna and I flowed from one spot to the next because we knew how to fight, how to make it real, how to make it make sense. For the very last time, I loved every second of it.

Somewhere in the crowd, I heard the rumblings of “This is boring.” But the fans weren’t able to sync up from around the stadium and the chant died. I didn’t even care. I expected the fans weren’t going to understand. They weren’t going to appreciate it.

If anything, making them sit through it was my last “f**k you” to them and the company. But it was the match that we wanted it to be. It was a match that I was proud of. That’s all that mattered.

Ronda Rousey Had “Bad Blood” With Charlotte Flair

In another section of Our Fight, Rousey discusses her WrestleMania 35 feud with Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch, specifically detailing how an incident during that rivalry led to tensions between herself and Flair.

Recently Ronda Rousey has claimed that “everybody is being held hostage” in WWE.
