Ronda Rousey Still Expected To Appear At Clash At The Castle

Despite being suspended by WWE, Ronda Rousey is expected to appear at Clash at the Castle next month.

Ronda Rousey challenged Liv Morgan for the SmackDown Women’s Championship this past weekend at SummerSlam. Although Rousey dominated much of the match, Morgan was able to pull out a win despite having tapped out during the final pinfall.

As Rousey believed she had won the match, she attacked Morgan and the referee when Morgan was announced as the winner. WWE later announced Rousey’s suspension and fine for assaulting the official, claiming that the former SmackDown Women’s Champion would be suspended for “an undisclosed amount of time.”

While this would make some believe Rousey would miss months of action, it appears that may not be the case. According to Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the “Baddest Woman On The Planet” is expected to make her return at next month’s Clash at the Castle.

“While we don’t have this confirmed as a rematch for Clash at the Castle, we do have confirmed that at press time the plan was for Rousey to be on that show.”

Interestingly, a new number one contender for the SmackDown Women’s Championship was crowned last night on SmackDown. Rousey’s longtime friend, Shayna Baszler, will have the chance to dethrone Morgan at the first major WWE UK pay-per-view in 30 years.

If Rousey does show up at Clash, one could speculate whether she’ll cost Morgan the title. As of now, it seems Morgan will have to defeat another MMA fighter in order to stay at the top of the SmackDown women’s roster.
