Ronda Rousey To Meet Charlotte Flair At WrestleMania 38

Ronda Rousey stares down Charlotte Flair

It has been confirmed that Ronda Rousey will challenge SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania 38.

After almost three years out of action, Ronda Rousey returned to a WWE ring on January 29th at the Royal Rumble. Entering at number 28, Rousey wasted little time in making an impact throwing Superstars over the top rope left and right before squaring off against Charlotte Flair.

Unfazed at facing the SmackDown Women’s Champion, Rousey dispatched Flair to claim a memorable win.

Following her victory, Rousey headed to Monday Night Raw for a confrontation with Becky Lynch. Despite, leaving Lynch laying, the ‘Baddest Woman on the Planet’ said that she would make her WrestleMania decision on SmackDown.

Fast forward to February 4th and it was Charlotte Flair who made her way to the ring first. She was quickly joined by Sonya Deville who said that she had been told by Becky Lynch that she would be facing Rousey at WrestleMania. With that in mind, Flair then challenged Sasha Banks to a match at the ‘Show of Shows.’

However, there was one more twist to come as Rousey came to get involved in proceedings. The former Raw Women’s Champion said that Flair was one of many women that she owed an ass kicking too, before declaring that she would face The Queen at WrestleMania 38.

Earlier in the show, it was announced that Charlotte Flair will defend her SmackDown Women’s Championship against Naomi on the upcoming episode of the blue brand.

The February 4th episode of SmackDown also saw the return of Goldberg. Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman opened the show toasting their most recent success. Namely costing Brock Lesnar the WWE Championship at the Royal Rumble.

However, the pair were soon interrupted by former Universal Champion Goldberg. The WCW legend wasted little time in confirming that he did acknowledge Roman Reigns. But after a quick pause he got to his real point, which was a match at Elimination Chamber. The former World Champion proceeded to lay down the challenge for Reigns, declaring that he’s next.

Later on in the show the match was made official for Elimination Chamber.

The two stars had been set to meet at WrestleMania 36 but Reigns pulled out of the event due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
