Ronda Rousey is riding high in WWE this year. After returning at the 2022 Royal Rumble, Rousey has been on an impressive streak of performances, capped off by her current reign as Smackdown Women’s Championship.
The spotlight has been briefly removed from her on-screen performances, however, in favour of an interaction she had with a world-famous singer several years ago. Rousey had damming claims for the pop star in defence of her younger sister.
Ronda Rousey Comments On Justin Bieber
Ronda Rousey once attended the Cannes Film Festival with her sister. At the same time, Justin Bieber was taking pictures with his fans. Despite showing no interest in the array of celebrities at Cannes prior, Rousey’s sister suddenly became excited, asking Rousey: “do you think he’d want to take a picture of me?”
When Rousey approached Justin Bieber to request a picture with her sister, the pop star’s response was perhaps not what Rousey expected. She spoke about this in a 2015 interview with Cosmopolitan.
I walked over there and said, ‘excuse me’ and he turned to me and said, ‘I’ve already taken a billion pictures today, okay? A billion!'”
Bieber then walked off without further comment, leaving Rousey’s sister on the verge of tears. Rousey and her sister once classified themselves as “Beliebers,” an affectionate term used for supporters of Justin Bieber. After this interaction, however, it is clear that Bieber lost two fans.
Ronda Rousey made these comments while being recognised as the UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion. This was roughly three years before she made her official WWE in-ring debut.
At WWE’s latest Premium Live Event, Survivor Series, Ronda Rousey defeated Shotzi, successfully defending her Smackdown Women’s Title. Since returning in January, Rousey holds victories over several notable names on the WWE Women’s roster. These names include but are not limited to; Charlotte Flair, Natalya, Liv Morgan and Emma. She recently completed her 50th straight day as Smackdown Women’s Champion.
Rousey seems to be enjoying her second run in the WWE. On her YouTube channel, the former UFC star spoke on how she finds this period easier compared to her first run in WWE, citing that she has “paid most of her dues.”
