Ronda Rousey has never been shy to share her opinions and once took aim at American socialite Kim Kardashian for being a poor role model to young women.
Kim Kardashian is one of the most famous women on the planet, with over 300 million followers on social media, and is adored by millions of young women from all over the world. But appears as though Ronda Rousey is not an admirer of the reality TV star.
“I Would Beat The Crap Out Of Kim Kardashian” – Ronda Rousey
Back in 2012, Rousey was at the height of her powers in UFC and had just appeared on the cover of ESPN The Magazine Body Issue.
At the wrap party for this event, a journalist asked the current WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion which celebrities she disliked:
“You know what, I would beat the crap out of Kim Kardashian actually. Any girl who is famous and idolised because she made a sex video with some guy and that’s all that you’re known for, ‘Oh, I got my fame for [expletive],’ I think it’s pretty stupid, sorry, but it’s true.”
The ‘Baddest Woman on the Planet’ went on to explain how she aims to be a role model for young girls:
“Girls like Kim Kardashian are being pushed in my little sister’s face, and it’s just not healthy. She shouldn’t need to have role models like this, and that’s why I’m doing stuff like ESPN Body because someone needs to do it.”
Ronda Rousey left the UFC in 2016 after back-to-back losses to Holly Holm and Amanda Nunes. Since 2018, Rousey has been signed to WWE and made her in-ring debut at WrestleMania 34, tagging with Kurt Angle to take on the team of Triple H and Stephanie McMahon.
She currently wrestles on the SmackDown roster as the reigning Women’s Champion in the division and recently name-dropped Asuka as a potential future opponent.
