Before officially joining WWE in 2018, Ronda Rousey was a megastar in UFC. The Baddest Woman on the Planet also married former UFC fighter Travis Browne in 2017.
However, nearly three years before tying the knot with Browne, Rousey confessed to having a crush on Russian mixed martial artist Fedor Emelianenko.
During a meeting with media members in Los Angeles in January 2014, the 35-year-old jokingly stated that she wanted to have 57 babies with him.
“Do I want to have 57 of his babies? It’s true. I think he’s married, though, so I’m not allowed,” she said.
Ronda Rousey On What Inspired Her To Get Into MMA
Rousey was the first American female to earn an Olympic medal in judo when she won bronze at the 2008 Summer Olympics. She began her mixed martial arts (MMA) career shortly after, and it was Emelianenko’s fighting style that sparked her interest in the sport.
“He was like my first real exposure to MMA. When I saw his fight, I thought, ‘That’s what I want to do,'” she said. “He’s always going to be my favorite. It was the first highlight reel I ever saw of MMA. I loved his style and how he came from a Judo-Sambo background, and I really try to emulate his style every time that I fight.”
Following their marriage in August 2017, Ronda Rousey and Travis Browne went on to have children of their own, welcoming their daughter La’akea Makalapuaokalanipo Browne to the world in 2021 during Rousey’s hiatus from WWE.
Following the birth of La’akea, Rousey return to WWE at Royal Rumble 2022 and has been a regular on WWE television since. In the past year she has captured the SmackDown Women’s Title twice, but was recently defeated by Charlotte Flair for the title on the SmackDown’s final broadcast of 2022.
