Ronda Rousey has made shocking allegations against current NXT Superstar Drew Gulak, accusing him of inappropriate behaviour during her time in the WWE.
Ronda Rousey revealed these claims while speaking to Brian Entin of NewsNation in promotion of her new book “Our Fight.”
The incident in question occurred while Rousey was waiting to speak to Triple H in the writer’s room. She recounted how an acquaintance, identified as Drew Gulak, walked past her and brazenly grabbed the string of her sweatpants before nonchalantly walking away. Rousey expressed her disbelief at the lack of reaction from those present and questioned the acceptability of such actions, highlighting the discomfort it caused her and her concerns for other women in similar situations.
I was standing there and this guy I was barely an acquaintance with grabs the string of my sweatpants as I’m walking by…and nobody reacts as if this is abnormal, and he’s going down the hall and I’m like ‘what the f*ck is that? Why are you grabbing the string of my sweatpants?
Following the disturbing encounter, Rousey confronted Gulak about his behaviour, warning him about the potential consequences of his actions. She expressed her dismay at the prevailing culture and the perceived acceptability of such conduct towards women in the WWE hallways.
I was like, if I ever hear you putting your hands on any other woman like this or doing anything to me like this ever again…we’re going to have a problem. And he was like ‘No, no, no, I’m glad you said something to me’ and he backpedaled. But it put a sour taste in my mouth about the culture there and what’s considered acceptable and how to touch and treat the women in the hallways.
In recent news it has been reported that Drew Gulak was pulled from multiple appearances over the WrestleMania weekend.
What Did Ronda Rousey Say It Would Take For Her To Return To WWE?
Ronda Rousey stated that it would take some drastic personnel changes for her to return to WWE. Rousey further elaborated that she isn’t hopeful that these changes will be made so doesn’t see her return to the company happening any time soon.
Update:
The day after Rousey made the comments about Drew Gulak on NewsNation, Gulak took to social media to issue the following statement:
Backstage at a WWE event in 2022, I saw Ronda talking with a group in the hallway. I stopped to say hi and shake all their hands, and in an attempt to shake her hand, I accidentally touched her drawstring. Complete accident, and one that I had apologized to her for the mishap.
With Ronda Rousey’s comments making headlines, a WWE announcer has issued a response.
