It has been announced that Roman Reigns will be back in action at the 2023 Royal Rumble on January 28th.
Reigns is coming off the back of a rare defeat at the hands of Kevin Owens and John Cena on the December 30th episode of SmackDown. Something he didn’t take lightly. After sending The Bloodline to create chaos on Raw, The Usos, Solo Sikoa and Sami Zayn interrupted the opening of SmackDown by trashing the ringside area.

With the destruction complete, Roman Reigns made his way to the ring with his Special Counsel, Paul Heyman. After demanding that fans acknowledge him, Reigns said he would give fans what they wanted and handed the microphone to Zayn.
After Zayn ran down why 2023 will belong to The Bloodline, Reigns said that he wanted to talk about last year. The Tribal Chief said that he doesn’t lose as it’s not in his make up, therefore he didn’t lose the previous week, Zayn did. Reigns calmly asked Zayn why he called his shot and guaranteed a win before completely losing his cool and screaming at the Honorary Uce asking whether he wanted to be the Tribal Chief.
As Zayn appeared to be in serious trouble, Kevin Owens arrived at the top of the ramp and said Reigns’ problem is with him, not his former friend. KO then proceeded to lay down a challenge to Reigns at the Royal Rumble.
Owens closed by saying that he would see Reigns at the Rumble, and Zayn when he digs his balls out of Reigns’ pocket.
Kevin Owens actually challenged Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship at the 2021 Royal Rumble in a Last Man Standing Match but he was unsuccessful. The bout was the last of a trio of championship matches which Owens lost in quick succession.
