A new report has given an indication of what WWE wishes to do with Roman Reigns and his Unified WWE Universal Championship going into WrestleMania.
For over two years Roman Reigns has called himself Universal Championship after he won the title at Payback in 2020 in a match that included Braun Strowman and Bray Wyatt. Such has Reign’s dominance been that Strowman has been fired and rehired by WWE while Reigns remained champion.
The Tribal Chief added to his legacy at WrestleMania 38 when he defeated Brock Lesnar in what was billed as the biggest WrestleMania match of all time to unify his title with the WWE Championship.
Roman Reigns barely escaped Clash at the Castle in Cardiff with his two belts in tow as Drew McIntyre would have surely defeated Reigns if it wasn’t for the surprise main roster debut of the newest member of The Bloodline, Solo Sikoa.
Now WrestleVotes have reported that the situation within WWE regarding Roman Reigns’ two championships remains “complex.” The report adds that WWE wants to head into WrestleMania season with two single world championships but there is also a sentiment that the company does not want Reigns to lose before WrestleMania 39 in Los Angeles.
Chief Content Officer Triple H is said to be “open to all things” in a creative sense to try and achieve all their goals with the situation.
The situation w/ the world titles & Roman Reigns is “complex” according to a source. They would like to go into “Mania season” & WrestleMania itself with 2 champions, but they also don’t want Reigns losing AT ALL prior. I’m told HHH & co are open to all things creatively here.
