WWE have announced that Roman Reigns will be wrestling on the special July 25th episode of Monday Night Raw at Madison Square Garden.
As of July 23rd, Roman Reigns has wrestled on WWE television (excluding Premium Live Events) only once in 2022. That match came on the June 17th episode of SmackDown against Riddle. His last televised match before that took place on December 3rd 2021 on SmackDown against Sami Zayn.
In that case it is perhaps unsurprising that the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion hasn’t wrestled on Monday Night Raw in ten months. However, that’s about to change.
WWE have announced that Reigns will be teaming with The Usos to take on Riddle and The Street Profits on the July 25th episode of the red brand. The bout inside Madison Square Garden will be his first on Raw since September 20th.
Reigns is currently preparing to face Brock Lesnar in a Last Man Standing Match at SummerSlam with his prized unified championship on the line. While The Usos are set to defend their Undisputed Tag Team Titles against The Street Profits at the same event. Following controversy at Money In The Bank, their bout will be refereed by WWE Hall of Famer Jeff Jarrett.
The special edition of Raw will also serve as a celebration for Rey Mysterio who made his WWE debut 20 years ago on the day of the show. However, it might not be all smiles for the Lucha legend as his son has been tipped to finally complete his heel turn on the episode.
