Roman Reigns has landed top spot on the Pro Wrestling Illustrated 500 for the second time.
The accolades for Roman Reigns continue to roll in as the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion has topped the PWI 500 for the second time in his career. He had previously secured top spot back in 2016. In fact, the star has been ranked inside the top seven every year since 2014, aside from 2020 where he was 14th.
Reigns was ranked 2nd in 2021 behind Kenny Omega, while last year’s third place man Bobby Lashley drops to fifth.
The PWI 500 evaluation period ran from July 1st 2021 to June 30th 2022. The rankings take into account win/loss records, strength of opposition, technical ability, influence on the spot, success against most diverse competition and activity.
During the period outlined Reigns stood tall over WWE defeating the likes of Brock Lesnar, John Cena Goldberg and Kevin Owens. Furthermore, one of his wins over Lesnar came at WrestleMania 38 where he captured the WWE Championship.
Second place man Kazuchika Okada has also enjoyed a banner year which saw him win the 2021 G1 Climax, while becoming IWGP World Heavyweight Champion.
CM Punk claimed third position after returning to the ring in August 2021. During the evaluation period, Punk defeated the likes of MJF, Darby Allin and Hangman Adam Page to claim the AEW World Championship.
