Roman Reigns has responded to a young fan whose emotions got the better of him after The Tribal Chief defeated his hero, John Cena in the main event of SummerSlam.
Cena fans were overjoyed when their sixteen time champion of the world made his highly anticipated return to WWE at Money In The Bank in July. Making his interntions clear from the off, Cena confronted Reigns and made no secret of his desire to go after a record breaking seventeenth world championship.
The collision course between John Cena and Roman Reigns hit a road block when Reigns refused Cena’s challenge in favour of former NXT Champion Finn Balor’s. As Balor and Reigns looked set to sign their contract for SummerSlam, Baron Corbin surprisingly attacked Balor and attempted to take the title match place for himself. This brought out Cena who, despite a history of doing the honorable thing, signed his own name in Balor’s place and claimed a spot in the SummerSlam main event.
Although cealry perturbed by events Reigns took things in his stride and told the world that he would defeat John Cena in the main event of The Biggest Party Of The Summer and send him back to Hollywood.
SummerSlam came and went and Reigns was a man of his word as a well placed spear was finally enough to overcome Cena and all but guarantee The Head Of The Table the first year-long reign in the history of the WWE Universal Championship.
As has been well documented, wrestling can be an emotional business for those on the sidelines, and Cena’s loss was all too much for one young fan whose reaction to the defeat went viral.
Roman Reigns however has little sympathy, responding to the clip on social media Reigns wrote:
