Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman have issued a response to The Rock’s ‘Head of the Table’ tease on WWE Raw Day 1.

This past Monday, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson made his surprise WWE return on the Day 1 special of Raw. After quickly dispatching Jinder Mahal, Johnson said he wanted to go out after the show and teased that he may sit at the head of the table – a clear-cut jab at Roman Reigns who has used the phrase for years.

During the New Year’s Revolution special of SmackDown last night, Reigns made his first appearance on WWE programming since The Rock’s tease and Kayla Braxton immediately asked the obvious question on everyone’s mind: What were his thoughts on The Rock’s tease?

Just like his response on social media earlier this week, Reigns didn’t give much away by simply laughing at Braxton before walking away. Later in the show, however, Paul Heyman addressed Reigns’ cousin and claimed the Hollywood megastar was simply using Reigns’ name to get viral attention.

“The Rock name drops Roman Reigns because The Rock wants to sit at the head of the table. To sit at the head of the table, one must be invited to a dinner of relevancy. The Rock has not been invited, nor will he be because The Rock is just like everybody else.

He’s looking for a shortcut to the headlines. There’s only two ways in this world to guarantee going viral. One, date Taylor Swift, two, call out Roman Reigns.”

Roman Reigns Will Next Defend His Title In A Fatal-4-Way

Reigns won’t be laughing at the Royal Rumble later this month, however, as he is set to defend his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship against Randy Orton, LA Knight, and AJ Styles in a Fatal-4-Way.

The match was made official in the closing moments of SmackDown by General Manager Nick Aldis after Reigns interfered in a Triple Threat match between the trio, the winner of which would have become his next challenger.

According to a new report, Roman Reigns was not originally scheduled to be defending his title in a Fatal 4-Way match.
