Roman Reigns’ Opponent At WWE Hell In A Cell Reportedly Revealed

Roman Reigns Hell in a Cell Opponent

According to a recent report from Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Roman Reigns’ opponent at the upcoming June 20th Hell in a Cell PPV has been revealed.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that Roman Reigns will defend his Universal Championship against WWE legend Rey Mysterio at the upcoming pay-per-view event.

During the 4th of June episode of Friday Night SmackDown, the reigning Universal Champion Roman Reigns attacked Rey Mysterio and his son Dominik in an attempt to prevent The Usos from losing consecutive matches to the duo following their unsuccessful SmackDown Tag Title challenge earlier in the night.

There has been speculation surrounding Reigns’ opponents moving forward on SmackDown following his victories over the likes of Cesaro and Daniel Bryan, however, this new report appears to confirm the working plans just two weeks away from the brutal PPV event.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter report states:

“Dave Meltzer has confirmed that Reigns defending against Mysterio is the direction for WWE’s next pay-per-view event, which takes place on June 20.”

The full announced card for WWE’s Hell in a Cell PPV is currently:

  • Bianca Belair vs. Bayley – SmackDown Women’s Championship Match
  • Rhea Ripley vs. Charlotte Flair – RAW Women’s Championship Match
  • Bobby Lashley vs. Drew McIntyre – WWE Championship Match
