A new report has claimed that Roman Reigns will be only appearing on one episode of Monday Night Raw throughout the summer.
Roman Reigns’ WWE schedule has become a source of great debate in recent weeks as the Undisputed Universal Champion significantly scales back his appearances.
WWE’s only current World Champion last wrestled at a live event on May 22nd, and last wrestled on television at WrestleMania Backlash. In fact, that match has been Reigns’ only televised bout since he defeated Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 38 on April 3rd.
During that period, Reigns has missed WWE Hell In A Cell, and is currently expected to miss Money In The Bank.
Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer has reported that Reigns is currently only scheduled to appear on Monday Night Raw once during the summer. At present, Reigns is expected to be at the July 25th edition of the show, which is the ‘go home’ episode before SummerSlam on July 30th. On that occasion, the red brand will be coming live from Madison Square Garden.
“The only time Reigns is going to be on Raw is the Raw from Madison Square Garden,” Meltzer said. “That’s his only Raw booking, the only time the champion will be on Raw pretty much the whole summer.”
It has previously been reported that Reigns will be wrestling Randy Orton, who is currently on a hiatus of his own, at the summer spectacular.
Despite his absence from Raw, Roman Reigns will be appearing on the June 17th edition of Friday Night SmackDown. Not only that, his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship will be on the line against Riddle. It has since been announced that if Riddle loses, he won’t be able to challenge for the title again while Reigns is champion.
It had originally been thought that the match would take place at Money In The Bank, but plans have since changed.
