Multiple reports claim Roman Reigns WILL NOT be appearing at WWE Money In The Bank.
Since becoming Undisputed Universal Champion at WrestleMania 38, Roman Reigns has wrestled only once on WWE television. His only match came at WrestleMania Backlash where he teamed with The Usos to defeat RK-Bro and Drew McIntyre.
While there have been occasional appearances, WWE Hell In A Cell came and went without WWE’s only current World Champion.
It has now been reported by Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated and the Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer that Reigns will also miss Money In The Bank. It was noted that “plans changed” after WWE moved Money In The bank from Allegiant Stadium to the much smaller MGM Grand Garden Arena, at least in part due to low ticket sales.
It had previously been reported that Reigns was set to appear and wrestle at all three of WWE’s planned stadium shows this summer. This report suggested that Reigns would face Riddle at Money In The Bank, Randy Orton at SummerSlam and then Drew McIntyre at Clash at the Castle.
Roman Reigns has been working less dates in recent weeks and will continue to do so, as WWE continue to position him as the “New Brock Lesnar.”
Despite Reigns now not being scheduled for Money In The Bank, it still appears that his next opponent will be Riddle. During Monday Night Raw, the RK-Bro star featured on Miz TV where he said he wanted to take on the Universal Champion.
Roman Reigns has only wrestled on WWE television four times in 2022, and hasn’t wrestled a match of any kind since May 22nd, where he defeated Drew McIntyre at a live event in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
