Undisputed Universal Champion Roman Reigns has a new number one contender after a chaotic main event on Friday Night SmackDown.
Ever since The Usos defeated RK-Bro to unify the World Tag Team Championships, Riddle has been on a one man mission to avenge his best friend.
After the match on SmackDown, The Bloodline delivered a vicious beatdown to both Riddle and Randy Orton, which has taken The Viper out of action.
With Orton absent, Riddle has formed a new alliance with Shinsuke Nakamura which led to another meeting with The Usos on June 3rd. However, Sami Zayn the self-appointed Bloodline sympathiser made sure The Usos would emerge victorious. As the bout hung in the balance, Zayn played Reigns’ music causing the distraction.
This led to a match between Riddle and and Sami Zayn on June 10th. If Zayn would he would be banished from SmackDown, but if Riddle won, he would earn the right to face Roman Reigns for the Undisputed Universal Championship.
During the match, Sami Zayn was cheered on by Paul Heyman on commentary, but no amount of encouragement for his opponent was going to stop Riddle. The turning point in the match came when Zayn attempted to use Orton’s moves which spurred Riddle into action.
The Original Bro fought back and went to hit the RKO but Zayn countered into a Blue Thunder Bomb. But Riddle would not be denied, turning a Helluva Kick into an RKO.
After the match, The Usos attacked the winner, but he was left standing tall after laying out both men with a Kendo Stick.
