In the main event of Survivor Series, Roman Reigns led The Bloodline to victory over The Brawling Brutes, Drew McIntyre, and Kevin Owens. With that match now in the history books, the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion’s next major match has reportedly already been decided.
The Bloodline Wins Survivor Series WarGames Match
The WarGames match began with dissension in the air as The Bloodline – particularly Jey Uso – were still suspicious of Sami Zayn. On the previous episode of SmackDown, Kevin Owens had tried to persuade his friend to turn on the group before they turned on him. This led to Jey and Zayn coming to blows early in the match.
However, once all ten men were in the ring and the match was in full swing, Zayn proved his loyalty by preventing the referee counting to three after Owens had Reigns dead to rights with a Stunner. The Honourary Uso then sealed the deal with a low blow to Owens and allowed Jey Uso to get the pinfall win with a Frogsplash.
To end the show, Roman Reigns and Jey Uso embraced Sami Zayn, finally solidifying his spot in the group.
Roman Reigns’ next challenger
Now that his feud with Sheamus and The Brawling Brutes is seemingly over, WWE has reportedly already decided what the future holds for Roman Reigns at the company’s next big event, the 2023 Royal Rumble.
According to a report by WrestlingNews.co, Reigns might be done with the Brawling Brutes, but Kevin Owens will continue to be a thorn in his side. The current plan will seemingly see Owens challenge The Tribal Chief for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at the Royal Rumble in a rematch from their Last Man Standing bout at the same event in January 2021. On that occasion, Reigns was barely able to escape with his Universal Championship intact.
Following the Rumble, Reigns will continue to keep busy as WrestlingNews also notes he is set to face Sami Zayn at Elimination Chamber in February. That event will be held in Zayn’s hometown of Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
