During a recent interview, Roman Reigns appears to have referenced a controversial YouTube video Logan Paul made in Japan.
Before becoming a WWE Superstar, Logan Paul made his name on social media, amassing over 3 million followers by 2014. This became a launching pad for his entertainment career as the star began making appearances in television shows and movies as well as releasing his own music.
However, one of Logan Paul’s YouTube videos attracted a lot of attention for all the wrong reasons in 2017. As part of his ‘Tokyo Adventures’ series, Paul visited Aokigahara, a forest well-known as a spot where many people have taken their own lives.
While there, Paul uploaded a video showing the body of a man who had recently hung himself in the forest. The video caused a huge backlash against Paul, with him being criticised by his followers, politicians, and celebrities including The Rock, who cut all ties with him.
While Paul has since apologised for the video, the scandal still dogs him to this day and even his opponent at the upcoming Crown Jewel Premium Live Event, Roman Reigns, seems to have made a veiled reference to it during a recent interview with SecondsOut, saying before coming to WWE, he was making videos of himself “doing God knows what”
“Before he came here, no disrespect, didn’t know who he was. I’m not a 15 year old little girl.
“So I don’t have any problems with him not watching me because he was busy doing what he does and that’s videotaping himself doing God knows what.
“So go videotape yourself doing God knows what and leave the true professionalism, the sports entertainment, the professional wrestling to people like me.”
WWE announced at a press conference in Las Vegas that Logan Paul will clash with Roman Reigns on November 5th in the main event of Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia. The bout will only be Paul’s second singles match and third match in total.
