Roman Reigns Gives Health Update Ahead Of WrestleMania 40 Main Event

Roman Reigns makes his WWE entrance with the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship

Roman Reigns has provided clarification on his condition after Pat McAfee said The Tribal Chief was still battling leukemia.

During his first reign as Universal Champion back in 2018,vReigns announced that he had leukemia and would be forced to relinquish the title to undergo treatment. Reigns went into remission in early 2019 and returned to WWE that February.

Roman Reigns opened up about his battle with the illness back in 2022, revealing he was first diagnosed in 2007 when he was only 21 years old and it brought his career with the Minnesota Vikings to an end.

During the main event of WrestleMania Saturday, which saw Reigns teaming with The Rock to face Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins, Pat McAfee worried fans when he mentioned that The Head Of The Table was still fighting the illness.

At the post-show press conference, though, Reigns clarified the situation, saying that is still in remission. The star says he will be on oral chemotherapy medication for the rest of his life, but thankfully it doesn’t affect him.

“I’m still on oral chemotherapy, it’s a medication that I’m going to have to remain on my entire life most likely. It’s just a part of my personal battle. It doesn’t affect me, thank God, I’m still able to perform. I think anybody in my position would say health is wealth. As long as I continue to perform, you already know that’s at bay. We’re good. We’re still in remission. It is something that is still part of my life.”

Roman Reigns Vs. Cody Rhodes Will Be Held Under Bloodline Rules

At WrestleMania Saturday, The Rock and Roman Reigns defeated Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins in the main event. The victory came with plenty of underhanded tactics as The Rock threw his weight as a member of the TKO Board around to threaten the referee into leniency and effectively making it a no-DQ match.

Those tactics were only a taste of what Rhodes can expect when he faces Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship on WrestleMania Sunday as his teams loss means the title match will be held under Bloodline Rules, meaning anything goes and Reigns allies can do whatever they need to in order to prevent The American Nightmare from dethroning The Tribal Chief.
