Roman Reigns Denies Former WWE Persona: “Didn’t Happen”

Roman Reigns claims a specific gimmick of his never existed.

Long before his 2020 return and evolution into the Tribal Chief, Reigns was known as ‘The Guy’ or ‘The Big Dog’. Largely known as a babyface character, his later alliance with Paul Heyman, and feud against Bray Wyatt, and Braun Strowman turned him into a heel.

However, while his villainous gimmick was well-loved and appreciated by the fans, his babyface character never received the same reception. At the end of criticisms and online trolling, Reigns was never able to make his Big Dog character over with the fans. Despite multiple title reigns and the 2015 Royal Rumble victory, the WWE Universe never accepted the run.

While the fans do not fondly remember that era, Reigns himself has completely denied its existence. Recently, speaking with IGN ahead of WWE 2K25’s release, Reigns claimed.

“There is no Big Dog. He’s dead now. I don’t even see the other guy. He doesn’t even exist. It doesn’t- didn’t happen.”
