Roman Reigns has spoken out on his support for United States President Donald Trump.
In November 2024, Trump was elected as President for a second time and began his term at the start of 2025. No stranger to the world of wrestling, Trump has appeared on WWE programming many times, was heavily involved in WrestleMania 23 due to his Battle of the Billionaires with Vince McMahon and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2013.
While the President is not mentioned on WWE TV due to politics being a sensitive topic, Trump has been brought up in interviews ahead of WrestleMania 41. Along with Triple H explaining why he is a fan of Trump, Reigns has also shown his support for the President in a recent interview.
In a piece for Vanity Fair, Reigns, who is described as “a registered Democrat, but considers himself a centrist”, stated that when it came to the election, the choice was “very clear”:
“One person was giving us information. One person was answering questions, so it wasn’t that hard,”
When I ask if that means that he backed Trump, Anoa’i pauses for a few seconds.
“I support our president. Trump is one of those guys where he’s got a vast history and a huge background. He’s been in entertainment. He’s been in big business, politics,” Anoa’i says. “At this point, I’m supporting a bright future for our country. Positive and competent leadership. For us to be what we’re supposed to be—to be a world leader and carry that respect and do what a world power like us should be doing.”
It is noted in the interview that Reigns does not back everything Trump has done, such as his “penchant for nursing grievances against political rivals”:
“It’s like he needs that adversary. He needs that opposition to bounce off of. He needs that competitive motivation or something. To be honest, the world seems to be more like wrestling than any other form of entertainment.”
Roman Reigns Addresses Vince McMahon Allegations
The Vanity Fair profile covered a number of topics from Reigns’ time in WWE, including the allegations that saw Vince McMahon resign from the company. In the interview, Roman Reigns spoke about the allegations and how he saw them as “a stain on WWE.”
The same day that the interview dropped, CM Punk was asked about his views on the subject.
