Roman Reigns Confirms WWE Deal Expires Post-WrestleMania 42

Roman Reigns Seemingly Pulled From Upcoming WWE Event

Roman Reigns has confirmed that his current WWE contract will expire following WrestleMania 42 in 2026, signalling that the end of his full-time wrestling career may be on the horizon.

In a new Vanity Fair profile by Tom Kludt, Reigns spoke candidly about his future in wrestling and his ambitions beyond the ring.

“After I finish the contract that I’m in, we probably got another year or two max,” Reigns said. “Then it’s time to take on a less physical form of entertainment.”

WrestleMania 42 is set for 11 and 12 April 2026, marking the potential endpoint of Reigns’ current run with the company. The article frames Reigns as the company’s next potential crossover star, with roles already lined up outside the squared circle. He previously appeared in Fast & Furious: Hobbs & Shaw and is currently attached to the upcoming projects Action Force and The Pickup.

Reigns, who first signed with developmental brand FCW in 2010, is preparing for his tenth WrestleMania main event this weekend at WrestleMania 41 Night One, where he’ll face Seth Rollins and CM Punk in a triple-threat match.

Though once the face of WWE’s full-time roster, Reigns has adopted a more limited schedule in recent years. Since losing the Undisputed Championship to Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 40, he has wrestled only five times.

Also in the interview, Roman Reigns spoke out on the Vince McMahon allegations.

Which WWE Star Says Match With Roman Reigns Put Them “On The Map”?

Jey Uso spoke about how his 2013 match at the Money in the Bank PLE alongside Jimmy Uso against Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins put The Usos “on the map.” Jey said that due to The Shield being one of the hottest acts in wrestling at the time, having The Usos go against them in a competitive match made them become legitimate stars in the eyes of the fans.

As WrestleMania 41 approaches, the opening matches for the event may have been revealed.
