At WrestleMania 39 Roman Reigns’ epic Undisputed WWE Universal Championship run shockingly continued when he defeated challenger Cody Rhodes in the main event.
In the lead-up to the title bout, there have been cracks appearing in the foundations of the Bloodline. Following Sami Zayn’s brutal expulsion from the group, Jey Uso appeared to walk on his family protest.
In the following weeks, the Tribal Chief questioned his loyalty and threatened to take it out on his brother, Jimmy. Jey returned to join his brother and turn on Zayn, which in turn set up their Undisputed Tag Team Championship match at WrestleMania 39.
Despite reuniting with his brother, the Usos weren’t seen with the rest of the Bloodline until Reigns’ match at Night 2. The interference during the emotional match helped their cousin retain his titles and continue their dominance.
After his victory, Reigns appeared at the post-show press conference and proudly stated the Bloodline still has plenty more to do in WWE
“(To Paul Heyman), what did you say earlier today? We’re in the third inning? If this is baseball, we’re just in the third inning. There is so much left to do. We said it for a long time, we’re just scratching the surface.
I told y’all, it had to be a month after we came back in 2020 after SummerSlam, we’re going to change the whole game. We’re not going to follow suit, we’re not going to run it like TikTok and YouTube Shorts, we’re going to expand you people and upon up your attention span.
You’re gonna have to pay attention for longer than 20 seconds y’all because that’s what we’re doing. We’re out here make filet mignon. This isn’t McDonald’s or Burger King. It’s not fast food. We’re giving you the good stuff. I meant it and I kept my word.”
Roman Reigns Is Heading To 1000 Days As Champion
Heading into WrestleMania 39 Reigns had held the Universal Championship for a whopping 945 days. Following his controversial win over the American Nightmare at the Showcase of the Immortals it seems increasingly likely that he will now take his reign into quadruple figures.
