Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar’s latest WrestleMania clash will headline the second night of WrestleMania 38.

Brock Lesnar initially earned the right to challenge for a World Championship at WrestleMania 38 by winning the 2022 men’s Royal Rumble match, where he last eliminated former rival Drew McIntyre to win the annual thirty-man scrap. He quickly chose to challenge for Roman Reigns‘ Universal Championship at ‘Mania on the following night’s Raw episode.

WWE has now confirmed that the match, now also for Lesnar’s WWE Championship, will headline the second night of WrestleMania 38 on 3 April, commonly referred to as WrestleMania Sunday.

Brock Lesnar returned to WWE programming at last August’s SummerSlam pay-per-view, confronting “The Tribal Chief” after his successful title defence against John Cena. The two have been embroiled in a rivalry ever since, with their scheduled Day 1 clash being called off after Reigns tested positive for COVID-19. As a result, Lesnar was entered into and won the WWE Championship five-way match.

Though he dropped the title back to Bobby Lashley at the Royal Rumble event following Paul Heyman costing him the bout, Brock has since regained the championship inside the Elimination Chamber last Saturday. Lesnar and Reigns’ Wrestlemania match will be a winner takes all situation as a result.

WrestleMania 38 will mark the sixth singles encounter between Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns, including their WrestleMania 31 bout that turned into a three-way as Seth Rollins cashed in his Money in the Bank contract. Excluding that, they are currently tied with two wins apiece; Lesnar at WrestleMania 34 and the Greatest Royal Rumble, and Reigns at SummerSlam 2018 and Crown Jewel 2021.
