Roman Reigns Breaks Character At WWE Supershow

WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns broke character at a live event as he implored the fans in attendance to stay safe during the pandemic.

The Tribal Chief has not been known for his humility or kind words for anyone since he made his return to WWE television at SummerSlam in 2020 as he ruled SmackDown with an iron fist.

Roman Reigns is set to overtake Brock Lesnar’s reign of 503 days as champion to become the longest-reigning Universal Champion in WWE history. Perhaps that wouldn’t have been the case had Reigns been able to defend his title against The Beast Incarnate at Day 1 as planned.

Fate intervened however as Roman Reigns revealed he had tested positive for COVID-19 so was unable to compete in that match. Instead, Brock Lesnar joined the bout for the WWE Championship instead and walked out with that title.

Roman Reigns has been back in action at live events for WWE and after one in Glen Falls, New York, Reigns broke character as he addressed the crowd, thanking them for coming to the show:

“I’d like to take this time to thank you guys for coming out. We all know what’s going on with this pandemic. I just want you all to stay safe. I want you to protect yourselves so that we can see you all next time. Also, goodnight and thank you.”

Roman Reigns had teamed with his cousins, the SmackDown Tag Team Champions, The Usos on the show. The Bloodline showed their dominance as they defeated Big E and The Viking Raiders.

Reigns is not the only WWE Superstar to show a different side of their character recently as Seth Rollins teased a babyface turn at a recent show.
