WWE Hall Of Famer Rob Van Dam has discussed the possibility of returning to the wrestling ring on a big stage saying that “it’s very possible.”
Rob Van Dam has built a stellar career in the wrestling business. A leader of ECW throughout the nineties, The Whole F’n Show joined WWE when the former company collapsed early in 2001.
Despite being part of the hated Alliance, RVD drew many supporters in his early days in WWE thanks to his unique charisma and moveset in the ring.
After brief flirtations with the main event scene, Rob Van Dam climbed the highest mountain in sports entertainment when he captured the WWE Championship from John Cena in a hugely memorable match at 2006’s One Night Stand event.
In 2010 Rob Van Dam joined TNA and just one month after his debut he captured the TNA World Championship from AJ Styles. RVD held the belt for four months before being forced to vacate the title due to a storyline injury.
Van Dam spoke exclusively to Kenny McIntosh for issue 14 of Inside The Ropes magazine. During their discussion, RVD discussed returning to the ring on a big stage such as for WWE or IMPACT Wrestling and says the universe will guide him:
“There are no plans to share with you. I don’t know if you will see me in a WWE ring, or any other ring. I still wrestle sometimes, it’s not something I am looking to do. There isn’t much that I am looking or trying to do. I stay more busy than I want to be—I’ve been saying that for years—I have my hands in a million different pies and I have some good partners, I have some good things going on.”
“I’m able to handle a lot of things, like my CBD company. But I may [wrestle again]. I actually wrestled a few days ago. I teamed with Bubba Ray Dudley to face Matt Hardy and his partner, from Private Party. It was really good. But a lot of people, if they don’t see me on WWE or TNA, they think I am not wrestling, but that’s not the case. I stay plugged in, I am good to go and the universe, it guides me. It’s very possible you might see me in the ring on TV in the near future, but it’s just as possible that you might not.”
