Rob Van Dam has addressed the idea that he was originally meant to compete at WWE NXT’s special event at the 2300 Arena.
RVD was one of several ECW legends who made surprise appearances on WWE NXT at the 2300 Arena earlier this month. While the 53-year-old still competes actively outside of WWE, having even competed in a few matches for AEW, Van Dam surprisingly did not compete on NXT and instead helped Je’Von Evans defeat Wes Lee.
During the latest edition of his One Of A Kind podcast, one fan noted that they were somewhat disappointed with RVD’s NXT appearance as they wanted to see him get physical. Van Dam hinted that plans for some sort of physical role were changed which left him disappointed.

Rob Van Dam Hopes To Make WWE NXT Return In The Near Future
Another fan asked if he had any plans to show off the brand-new ring gear he was wearing for his NXT appearance, with Van Dam responding that he hoped to do so during a future NXT appearance – which he’s currently attempting to bring to fruition.
I am. Just like with everything else, I need a little time. Ideally with that one, hopefully I will be revealing it on NXT and WWE. I got to focus on getting back in there to my place to my turn to step up to the plate again. I gotta make that happen,
