Jungle Boy Jack Perry has caught the eye of Rob Van Dam.
Speaking on his 1 Of A Kind podcast, RVD was asked if he watched any wrestling over the past week and the WWE Hall Of Famer did, noting that he saw parts of AEW Dynamite, specifically Jack Perry in his new heel persona. While fans are well aware of Perry’s in-ring athleticism, something that stood out to RVD was the young pillar’s work behind the microphone.
“He had everybody listening to him, you know, smooth. Wasn’t screaming like, ‘I’m gonna rip your head off,’ you know? But it was still getting heat and he just was comfortable, took his time. So I was impressed with that.”
Van Dam added that he saw highlights of the bout with Hook for the FTW Title, a belt that now belongs to “bad” Jack Perry after last week. The title changed hands after Perry cracked Hook with the belt, giving him the pinfall victory and ending the star’s undefeated streak.
Rob Van Dam Isn’t The Only ECW Star With Eyes On Jack Perry
Another ECW name that obviously has a close eye on Perry is Hook’s father, Taz. When Perry backstabbed Hook at Forbidden Door 2, Taz made his leave from the commentary table to gather himself.
Taz and RVD have a storied history with one another as the two had their share of competitive tension while in ECW, but that beef was long squashed while they were still in the promotion immediately following the “pick a hand” incident.
