Rob Van Dam dished out an unusual gift to WWE Chairman Vince McMahon after being inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame Class of 2021.
In footage from the latest in the WWE Icons series airing on Peacock and the WWE Network, Van Dam presented McMahon with a pack of his own RVD rolling papers. Van Dam also presented the same gift to the like-minded Riddle in a backstage segment at WrestleMania that also involved fellow Hall Of Famer, The Great Khali.
In a clip from the upcoming episode of WWE Icons focussing on the career of RVD, McMahon had this to say about the high-flying superstar:
“There has always been a bond between Rob and myself. It’s just the way that you feel about someone and you know they feel the same way. It’s just there. We’ve always had that.”
Rob Van Dam came to WWE in the summer of 2001 representing ECW during the Invasion storyline. At the Invasion pay-per-view in July Van Dam won his first gold in the company when he defeated Jeff Hardy for the Hardcore Championship.

Van Dam would go on to hold the Intercontinental Championship six times in WWE as well as winning tag team gold three times with Rey Mysterio, Booker T, and Kane. His crowning glory came at the ECW themed One Night Stand event in 2006. As the Money In The Bank contract holder, RVD challenged WWE Champion John Cena to a title match inside the Hammerstein Ballroom. In front of one of the most raucous crowds in WWE history, Van Dam defeated Cena and became WWE Champion.
In the footage from his WWE Icons episode, Triple H can be heard telling Van Dam that he “changed the style of the business” as the chilled star thrilled crowds with his one-of-a-kind style and move set.
