Road Dogg Would’ve Liked To Main Event WrestleMania With One Modern Tag Team

If Road Dogg was in his prime, he believes the New Age Outlaws would have complimented a modern tag team greatly in a WrestleMania main event.

It was a special edition of “Ask Dogg Anything” this week on Oh…You Didn’t Know as the WWE Hall of Famer fielded questions from the fans. One tossed out the question “If you could main event a WrestleMania as a tag team with [Billy Gunn] who would you want your opponent’s to be?” Brian James, the current Senior VP of Live Events for WWE, keeps his finger steadily on the pulse of the product and decided to take a more modern route with his answer:

“I don’t live in yesterday, Jack. I live in today. So I want an opportunity at those Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championships from Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn. But I want me and Billy in our prime. I want us then, I want us in ’98 vs. Kevin and Sami now, and I’ll tell you why. Kevin and Sami can both go. They go at it.”

Why Road Dogg Picked Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn

James gave some added reason as to why he chose Owens and Zayn as it’s not just because they’re your current WWE Undisputed Tag Team Champions.

“If you ever watch their matches — if you ever watch Kevin work with Gunther, he ain’t scared of a lick. They will lay stuff in. That’s exactly where me and Billy were in ’98, is young and hungry and willing to find out. We were willing to eff around and [find out].”

Owens and Zayn’s title reign could be on borrowed time as the rumored match that they may have is them against Damian Priest and Dominik Mysterio at WWE SummerSlam.
