Roman Reigns is currently in the midst of one of the most dominant runs in the modern era of professional wrestling.
At time of writing the Tribal Chief has held the Universal Championship for a staggering 855 days, while he had been WWE Champion for 274 days. Reigns’ run began all of the way back in August 2020 and has seen him conquer Hall of Famers, former champions and many of the biggest names in WWE. Incredibly, Reigns’ domination looks set to continue with very few viable opponents seemingly in the pipeline.
Road Dogg Tips Hat To Roman Reigns
While some now can’t wait for Reigns to lose at least one of his titles, others are still basking in the glory of The Head of The Table. Speaking on his podcast, Oh You Didn’t Know, WWE’s Senior Vice President of Live Events, Road Dogg was full of praise for the champion.
“So it’s the greatest in distant history, that’s for sure. It’s the hottest thing in sports entertainment, in professional wrestling. The bloodline storyline as a whole and the intricacies in the relationship and the characters, it is the best thing in wrestling right now. And there’s not even a close second. Like that’s just just how it is. And so look, I don’t say that because they hired me back, I say that because it’s a fact.
And if you disagree with it, it’s because you’re a hater. And you’re not looking at the big picture, you’re playing small ball. But yeah, Roman Reigns and his reign have been epic and history making for the WWE as a entertainment conglomerate in the world. You know what I mean? Like it’s, it’s good for business. It’s best for business.”
Roman Reigns was most recently in action on the December 30th episode of SmackDown where he suffered a very rare defeat. On the show Reigns teamed with Sami Zayn to take on Kevin Owens and a returning John Cena. In the end it was Cena and Owens who scored the win after KO delivered a Stunner to the Honorary Uce.
