Road Dogg Returns To WWE In “Executive Position”

WWE Hall of Famer Road Dogg

According to a new report Road Dogg has returned to WWE in what has been described as an “executive position.”

Road Dogg is back with WWE. The Attitude Era star, who was released by the company back in January will now resume work in an “executive position.”

The report from Mike Johnson of PWInsider notes that Road Dogg’s exact title is currently unknown, as is when he officially starts work. However, the former Tag Team Champion is not backstage at the upcoming episode of Monday Night Raw.

After calling time on his in-ring career in 2015, Road Dogg transitioned into a full-time backstage role with WWE.

Over the following seven years, the Attitude Era star worked in a number of roles including as a producer, writer and latterly a trainer in NXT, where he focused on promos and character development.

However, since the brand became NXT 2.0 in September 2021, it’s undergone numerous changes, with a significant turnover of staff backstage. In January 2022, Road Dogg was released by the company alongside the likes of William Regal and Samoa Joe.

The news of Road Dogg’s return comes after it was reported that Jeff Jarrett has left the company. Jarrett had only returned to WWE in May and had been working as Senior Vice President of Live Events. The star even featured on television at SummerSlam where he served as the special guest referee for the clash between The Usos and The Street Profits.
