Road Dogg Names The Greatest Tag Team Of All Time

Billy Gunn & Road Dogg (New Age Outlaws)

Road Dogg is no stranger to great tag teams.

The WWE Hall Of Famer was notoriously one half of one of WWE’s greatest tandems in the New Age Outlaws. Along with Billy Gunn, Brian James helped to further the legend behind Degeneration-X, but also made his own legacy alongside the current Daddy Ass.

Speaking on his Oh…You Didn’t Know podcast, Dogg was asked who he thought the greatest tag team of all time was between The Outlaws, The Dudley Boyz and The Road Warriors and James gave his forthright opinion to co-host Casio Kid.

“You’re asking the wrong guy, because if I said anybody but me and Billy, I’d be lying to you because [if] I say me and Billy, I sound cocky and braggadocious, and that’s now how I mean that at all. Look, if you’re talking about dollar figures or championship reigns, or stuff like that, I don’t know, man…”

Road Dogg: “They Probably Made The Most Money”

Despite being biased towards himself, Dogg laid out the logistics and made a case for the following team as the greatest to ever do it.

“I think the L.O.D. probably [are] the best in history. They probably made the most money.”

The late Road Warrior Hawk and Animal may not have been the best workers in the ring, both by all accounts were the most popular pair to step foot between the ropes. Their fame was so “on-fire” that the immense reaction ta star would receive when walking out became known as a “Road Warrior” pop. Early in their run as a tag team, The New Age Outlaws did take on Hawk and Animal when the two were known as L.O.D. 2000.
