After winning a triple threat match on Raw, RK-Bro are once again the Raw Tag Team Champions!
The March 7th episode of Monday Night Raw opened up with a triple threat match for the Raw Tag Team Championship that saw Alpha Academy defend against both RK-Bro and the duo of Kevin Owens and Seth Rollins. Alpha Academy had been champions since defeating RK-Bro on the January 10th episode of Raw in a match that saw Randy Orton take the pinfall loss for his team.
Looking to regain their championship, RK-Bro became number one contenders when they defeated Alpha Academy in a quiz bowl on the February 7th episode of Raw. However, Kevin Owens and Seth Rollins insisted that they get a chance to be added into the match, and it was made a triple threat when KO & Rollins defeated RK-Bro last week.
After Kevin Owens and Seth Rollins opened Raw with a promo that drew out both other teams, the six men engaged in a hard hitting match that was full of twists and turns. One spectacular moment saw Chad Gable’s attempt at a moonsault turned into an RKO delivered by The Viper.
In the end, it looked like Kevin Owens and Seth Rollins were on their way to WrestleMania when Owens hit a Stunner on Chad Gable that was followed up by a Stomp from Rollins, but Riddle was able to steal a pinfall victory over the prone Gable and win the match for his team. RK-Bro celebrated in the ring as Owens and Rollins were despondent.
After the match, Randy Orton made it clear that he was having the most fun he’s ever had in his career alongside Riddle, and even called Riddle his friend, something he says he’d not said in his twenty years in wrestling. He said that he has no friends besides Riddle, but that he’s excited that the two are going to WrestleMania together.
This is the team’s second Raw Tag Team Championship victory, with the first taking place at SummerSlam when they defeated AJ Styles and Omos.
