ROH hosted Supercard of Honor annually from 2006 until 2019, traditionally during WWE’s WrestleMania weekend. The 2019 edition of the event was a joint venture with New Japan Pro Wrestling and held under the G1 Supercard name at Madison Square Garden.
Back in October, Ring of Honor announced that the promotion would be going on hiatus after their Final Battle event in December. At the time it was tentatively suggested that a “reimagined” version of the company would return in the first quarter of 2022.
While ROH hasn’t been producing any content of it’s own, the ROH World Championship was recently featured at IMPACT Wrestling’s Hard To Kill pay-per-view. At the event Jonathan Gresham defended the title against Chris Sabin.
The show was also the scene of an ‘ROH invasion’ with Matt Tavern, Mike Bennett, Maria Kanellis-Bennett, Vincent and PCO attacking Rich Swann, Heath, Rhino, Willie Mack and Eddie Edwards.
