WWE Superstar Ridge Holland has opened up about what it means for WWE to host the Clash At The Castle stadium show in the UK.
WWE returns to a stadium in the UK for the first time in over thirty years as they bring Clash at the Castle to the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales on September 3rd.
The last time the company held an event of this scale in the UK saw over 80,000 fans pack Wembley Stadium in London, England in 1992 to see The British Bulldog capture the Intercontinental Championship from his brother-in-law, Bret Hart.
One star who is excited to see WWE back on this side of the Atlantic is Ridge Holland, who hails from West Yorkshire in England.
Speaking to WWE, the Brawling Brutes member admitted it was something he never thought would happen and sees it as an opportunity to thank UK fans.
“It’s something that I probably never thought would happen. It’s just a massive opportunity to give back because of all the support from the UK fans.
“Everything we do that night, regardless of what happens, it’s an opportunity to say thank you. It is going to be absolutely electric. As the card continues to build, one match that has everyone talking is Roman Reigns vs. Drew McIntyre.
As well as the huge Undisputed WWE Universal Championship match between Reigns and McIntyre, Holland’s fellow Brawling Brute, Sheamus, has a chance at gold as he will take on Gunther for the Intercontinental Championship.
The Irishman has promised he will win the belt and become the ‘Ultimate Grand Slam Champion’.
Liv Morgan will also put her SmackDown Women’s Title on the line against Shayna Baszler, while Riddle will finally get his hands on Seth Rollins in a singles match.
There will also be a huge six-woman tag team match which will see Bianca Belair, Alexa Bliss, and Asuka take on Bayley, Dakota Kai, and IYO SKY.
Clash at the Castle takes place on September 3rd and it has been announced that UK viewers will be able to watch the event live on BT Sport.
