Ridge Holland has hit back at a fan who wants to see the WWE star lose his job over what happened to Big E back in 2022.
During an episode of SmackDown, Holland gave Big E an overhead suplex outside the ring. The former World Champion suffered a broken neck as a result of the move but thankfully was able to avoid surgery and was told by the doctors that he narrowly avoided paralysis.
More than 3 years later, Big E has yet to step back in the ring and has shown no signs of a comeback with there being a strong possibility that he will never wrestle again.
With Holland being blamed for what took place, the British wrestler received a lot of negative comments online with some issuing death threats. It should be noted that in a previous interview, Big E made it clear that he holds no animosity towards Holland over what happened:
“We’re good, man. Things happen. It’s a part of what we sign up for. It’s not something I ever would have wanted, but it happened. Me hating him or holding a grudge doesn’t help me at all. He’s been very apologetic, so we’re good man. I hold no ill will against him at all.”
I generally think he’s a good human being. I truly do. I’ve enjoyed our interaction prior, and I wish him well. I don’t want this to be the albatross around his neck, whether I have to retire early or not. I can hug my loved ones. I can live my life. My life is good. So, there’s no ill will whatsoever.”
Ridge Holland Hit With Online Abuse Again
In April 2025, one user on social media caught the attention of Holland by bringing up the 2022 incident, calling for the British wrestler to lose his job:
Genuinely f*ck Ridge Holland. They should’ve released him when he injured Big E and that should’ve been it. Get that walking workplace accident out of WWE and out of sports entertainment.
Responding to the comment, Holland let his feelings be known:
“That’s not a very nice comment, is it? You’re thinking about me though. I’m in your head, though, living rent-free, though. Oh and one more thing… you’re a virgin. Tarra lad.”
In a previous interview, Big E responded to comments made by Tony Hinchcliffe.
