Riddle set to compete in an NXT ring for the first time in more than a year and a half when he teams with MSK at New Year’s Evil.
On the December 7th episode of NXT Riddle made a surprising return to the brand when he was revealed to be MSK’s Shaman. In the weeks that followed MSK made it clear that they now wanted a shot at the NXT Tag Team Championships which are currently held by Imperium.
While that match would certainly be a hard-hitting affair on the December 28th edition of the show, things went up another level entirely.
Wes Lee and Nash Carter came to the ring to call out the Tag Team Champions with Riddle supporting on the titantron. However, they got a little more than they bargained for when they were interrupted by WALTER who appeared on the big screen via video conference. With the situation escalating quickly, Riddle appeared back on the screen to defend his bros.
He then challenged WALTER, Fabian Aichner and Marcel Barthel to a six-man tag team match at New Year’s Evil which was quickly accepted.
The match will mark WALTER’s first WWE televised match since being defeated by Ilja Dragunov at NXT TakeOver: 36 back in August. The bout will also see Riddle return to an NXT ring for the first time since May 2020.
