According to Fightful and Fightful Select, Riddle has signed a brand new contract with World Wrestling Entertainment.

The former NXT Tag Team Champion has been the centre of WWE’s attention over the last few weeks as the Stamford group looked to tie the star down to a new contract with his current deal set to expire in August 2021.

Despite Vince McMahon not seeing the company’s ‘Original Bro’ as main event star because he doesn’t understand the gimmick, the boss has been said to be high on the talent and considers him both worthy of television time and a solid mid-upper card name.

Now, WWE have their wish. Riddle has signed a three year extension on his current deal which will see him remain part of the product until December 2023 and is far more lucrative than the agreement he penned upon joining NXT in 2018.

This time around, he will be taking home $400,000 per year with an eyewatering $50,000 per match should he decide to work shows in Saudi Arabia once WWE are permitted to travel again following the restrictions placed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

However, according the report, his renewal wasn’t always guaranteed. The former BroserWeight was said to be very hesitant to re-sign after an unacceptable initial offer was placed to him.

Currently part of The Hardy Bros, with Jeff Hardy, it seems Riddle has found his niche on Monday nights as the duo war with The Hurt Business. The man in question is even rumoured to challenge Bobby Lashley for the WWE United States Championship at the Royal Rumble on January 31.
