Despite his match against Seth Rollins being postponed, Riddle made a shock appearance at SummerSlam to cause chaos.
Match or no match, Riddle wasn’t about to miss the Biggest Party of the Summer.
After Kid Rock tried to cause some controversy of his own in the crowd by flipping off the camera, Riddle stormed the ringside area and climbed into the ring. Just days ahead of the show, his match against Seth Rollins was cancelled as a result of the storyline injuries he suffered in an assault by The Visionary on Raw.
However, a fired up Original Bro said that if there was one thing that Randy Orton had taught him, it was that he shouldn’t take any crap from anybody, so he was calling Rollins out for a fight. As the saying goes, “ask and you shall receive,” and that’s exactly what happened in Nashville.
Rollins sprinted to the ring, but Riddle ran out to the entranceway to meet him. A chaotic brawl ensued with the two men followed by numerous officials ending up back in the ring. Although he gave as good as he got, Rollins left his rival laying with another Curb Stomp.
The segment ended with Riddle being tended to by officials as Rollins gloated over his latest success.

Following the news of the cancellation it was reported that the match was removed from the card as as result of “creative adjustments.” While the injury to Riddle was just a storyline mechanism to explain the decision.
The same report stated that the match still features in plans going forward and is now slated to take place at Clash At The Castle on September 3rd.
