Riddle Admits Roman Reigns “Wasn’t Happy” With His Recent Comments

Riddle has admitted that Universal Champion Roman Reigns was less than impressed with comments he made about the Tribal Chief following SummerSlam.

Speaking after his Raw Tag Team Title success at SummerSlam, Riddle responded to a tweet from Roman Reigns who said he was “legitimately needle moving.” The Original Bro took issue with Reigns’ tweet saying he didn’t move the needle, wasn’t impressed by him and could beat him up in a real fight.

It was later reported that Riddle’s comments earned him some heat backstage with those who were less than impressed with his choice of words.

The former MMA star has now revealed that Reigns “wasn’t happy” with the fighting talk. In conversation with Peter Rosenberg on his Cheap Heat podcast, Riddle said he wasn’t going to name names, before referencing a “chief of tribes.”

“I’m trying not to talk too much trash anymore,” said Riddle. “I don’t want to upset the higher ups. I’m not going to mention exact names, but he’s a chief of tribes. I said something about him recently. I’m not saying specific names. It could be anybody. He wasn’t happy. I talked some trash about me moving the needle and selling merch. He didn’t like what I said. I thought it was hilarious, but not everybody thinks like me.”

Riddle has previously been vocal about wanting to face both Brock Lesnar and Goldberg, despite occasionally rubbing both Superstars the wrong way. Continuing on, Riddle said that he hoped he’s be able to take on the former World Champion’s.

“Then Brock, I still want the match with Brock, but I promised him I wouldn’t call him out anymore,” uttered Riddle. “He asked me not to a couple years ago at a Royal Rumble, so I respect your wishes Mr. Beast. I won’t call you out.”

“I will say this, Bill Goldberg, I’ll be honest, I think I’ve grown on the guy,” he added. “I think he’s grown on me a little. I think that match could probably happen. We both went to Saudi, we were both on the same airplane, and we bumped into each other quite a few times on that airplane. I think we can get that match. I think we can pull that one off. No promises, but I’m hoping in 2022 we get Riddle vs Goldberg. It will sell tickets. Out of those matchups, I see that one happening the most.”

Since winning the Raw Tag Team Championships along Randy Orton at SummerSlam the pair have seen off all comers on the red brand. At Crown Jewel the champions retained over former champions AJ Styles and Omos before seeing off the challenge of Dolhp Ziggler and Robert Roode on the most recent episode of Raw.
